Welcome to Biomedical Engineering in the School of Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering at University College Dublin. Our research utilises computational modelling, signal processing, design and experimentation to provide insight into, modify and control physiological systems. The goal of this research is to develop a better understanding of the underlying mechanisms involved and to develop improved rehabilitation strategies and therapies. Our research encompasses a range of specific projects within the following key areas: Neural Engineering, Cognitive Neuroscience, Neuromuscular Systems, Cardiovascular Engineering, Orthopaedic Biomechanics, Impact Biomechanics and Rehabilitation.
